In 1979 a New York manufacturer sold designer Yves Chareton some old stock of oxford and chambray fabrics that were, at the time, impossible to find on the market. Influenced by classic American styles, Yves used these textiles to produce vintage-inspired men’s shirts, and Hartford born. A few years later, Yves relocated back to Paris and expanded his line to include a womenswear collection.
Steeped in the spirit of the 60s and influenced by Yves’s childhood in France, Hartford blends the casual style of the California coast with European influences. Produced from high quality materials and featuring both elegant and humorous details, the Hartford collection of alternative classics has become a favorite among devotees of the laid-back lifestyle.
