scandinavian swan mobile
Five Scandinavian swans are gracefully suspended on this paper mobile by Flensted Hanging Art.
54" long x 48" wide
made in Denmark
In 1953 Christian Flensted carefully cut three paper storks and suspended them on two straws, creating a handmade christening gift for his daughter, Mette. This fun, ingenious and personal gift was the prelude to Flensted Mobiles. A year later, with a dining room table as a workspace and underneath the sofa as storage, he and his wife Grethe established Flensted Mobiles.
When it comes to mobiles, rest and restlessness make a happy couple. With his unique and elegant designs, Christian’s extraordinary mobiles can both set their surroundings in motion and create a balance of mind.
In 1982, Christian and Grethe passed the baton to their son Ole and his wife, Aase. In 2023 the baton was passed once again to their children, Christine and Christophe, who have continued on with respect to the original designs, including the design that started it all, the lucky storks.
