Launched in the 80’s, MOMA was born from the shared ambition of Gigio and Daniele Gironacci to create wearable sculptures made from skillfully aged leather. When they started producing “used and dirty things,” they were not trying to create a new trend, they just wanted to wear shoes marked by some sort worldly, experienced look and personality.
At the MOMA workshop in the hills of the Marche region of Italy, they combine innovative ideas and traditional knowledge to create each pair of handmade shoes using original techniques and time-tested methods. Their team of everyday craftsmen, designers, workers, and artists share their skills and experiences. Embracing the ethos that a good idea is a good idea, no matter who it comes from, they allow each artist to contribute their vision to the line.
