Percent Jewelry is the brainchild of Tom Schwartz, by inclination and education an aesthete and connoisseur of the arts, both fine and decorative. Early on, Tom was lucky to find a place for himself in a silver jewelry design company that was still in its initial stages. The company grew quickly, becoming sophisticated and complex, and Tom was positioned, along the way, to have his hand in or on most of its working parts. Over many happy and fruitful years, Tom became well versed in the ways and means of jewelry making. All of this inestimable know-how, enriched by his sensitivity, insight and good taste, sparked the creation of Percent Jewelry in 2007.
All Percent Jewelry is handmade in sterling silver. The gold finish is 24k gold over sterling. Featured gemstones are chosen for their color and clarity and are meticulously hand-cut to Percent Jewelry’s specifications in Jaipur, the Pink City of India. Upon completion, the finished stones are dispatched to Percent Jewelry’s studio in New York’s Hudson Valley, and, in the concluding phase of this transformation, are set by local silver artisans. Production runs are always modest in scale to ensure not only quality, but also exclusivity and the distinction of every earring in the collection.
